    Yes ofc #Amazon.. setting bullshit data in your DNS records without verifying them and likely using a way too small TTL is absolutely a “latent fault in DNS”..

    It is NOT the job of a #DNS server to verify you’re not feeding it dogfood :facepalm:

    Opens a support ticket explaining in detail that all gen2 BackBone one controllers on the current firmware version seem to have an issue when trying to use the pass-through USB-C charging feature with a USB-C PD capable charger.[1]

    -- 2 weeks pass —

    Backbone Support:

    we are sorry that you needed to open a warranty case, please supply your purchase documents and the serial number for an RMA

    … did anyone read my request text?

    There’s *dozens* of reports of people owning the very same device all experiencing the same issue with a USB-C PD charger regardless if the connected phone is iOS / Android or anything else.

    Does this sound like replacing my unit will fix the firmware or hardware issue the whole series seems to have?

    [1] The issue in question manifests as an instant disconnect / reconnect / freeze loop where the BackBone does a software-dc from the connected phone (iPhone AND Android) a moment after the phone tries to negotiate USB-C fast charging. It can be completely avoided by using a non-power-deliver / non fastcharging USB-C charger.
