Secret hobby project finished. She does not follow me, so it is safe to post. Picked up a 3d printed plague doctor dice tower for my youngest for a present. I could not bring myself to leave it just black resin. I used a combination of paints: #speedpaints for wood, leather, gloves and lantern panes, conventional for the rest. #GreenStuffWorld color shift for the lenses. I do still need to varnish, but I am pretty satisfied with how it came together. #miniaturepainting

The doctor will see you now. One of my daughters loves plague doctors, and they designed the paint scheme. I used a #slapchop technique with #thearmypainter #speedpaint for most. Interesting to see how Grim Black goes on things. Also used noble skin at my kid’s direction for the leathers. Used red goblin from #GreenStuffWorld for eyes and syringes, and #vallejo white for mask. Metal bits are #privateerpress cold steel. With all the black, I thought a snow base would be a nice contrast.

I ordered fresh green stuff from Green Stuff World recently through Ebay.
Green Stuff World is in Spain so I've been #tracking my #package for awhile now.
First it was in Madrid, then Paris, then The Hague, and now my #shipment is in New York.I use #greenstuff for basing slotted #miniatures on washers. My old green stuff is hard to work with now. I have miniatures I'd like to start and one I already started without basing first.

And boy, am I glad I did. Here's that same "Royal Burgandy" paint from #GreenStuffWorld, sprayed at the same quantity, over a black undercoat, and a silver one.
The black base has made it appear greeny/blue. The silver, a metallic rose pink.
These spoons now go into my reference collection so I can refer to later on...

I'm trying out a new technical paint (GreenStuffWorld's Colourshift) which I've not used before, so wanted to get an idea how it would come out, over various different base coats. Plastic spoons are cheap, made of plastic (so react similarly to the paint as models do) and have lots of curves, so you can see how the paint will look at different angles/in different lights etc.
Here's the spoons before painting.
