I was looking around for confirmation that the best practice for #airbrush tip dry was to pinch off the dry paint on the needle (it is, but there are other solutions that may be safer!) and I found this video with some gorgeous shots of tip dry and paint atomization in action. https://youtu.be/S9wRP1CHpbo?t=56

I did some more #airbrush work on my Dante figurine. I guess now I will have to switch to regular brushes for detail work. I tried blocking in some NMM for the sword. Does it work? #Nerdlings #MiniaturePainting #DevilMayCry #3dPrinting

This is the classic "can't afford to be cheap/poor" problem: buy cheaper fan, get bad results; buy slightly less cheap fan, maybe get better results... possibly end up paying more than just buying an expensive item in the first place. #MiniaturePainting #airbrush

After finding a very complicated but comprehensive article (https://www.modelersite.com/Abr2003/english/Spray-booth-design_Eng.htm) about calculating airflow and static pressure, the fan I have just isn't going to cut it, so I've ordered one twice as powerful in the hope that'll do the trick without now being super noisy (it claims not to be).

The good news: I managed to pre-drill some squares cut out of a 3D-printed paint rack, glue them to the underside of the screw hole and they held well enough to re-screw the vent down.
Also good news: the lights still work!
Less good news: almost no noticeable difference in suction from the inline fan.

After all this, I really hope it works or I’ve just ruined a decent spray booth.

After taking it all apart, the wires had to be cut as they’re soldered in.
Then I had to get something to cap the wires off.
Then I realised the outlet hood was screwed to the fans themselves and there’s nothing to screw it back onto anymore.
Now it’s night, the shops are shut and I can’t find anything in the house to help me fix it back on.
Lunchtime trip to B&Q/ToolStation tomorrow I guess…

Oops.
One of those “this should be a quick job” ideas that keeps getting more complicated.
A while ago I bought an inline duct fan to get better airflow for my spray booth. The original fans seemed to be getting in the way though.
“I know. I’ll just remove them.“
Mistake.

I airbrushed the unicorns some more. I decided to change up the hair and tail parts. And now it got galaxy hair! 😄 Oh and a rainbow horn, because why not? 😁

I originally planned to get those done for my daughter‘s birthday. But with work and all I didn’t get to finish them yet. Also I managed to tear my bandsaw blade. Luckily I had a spare. 😅 #woodworking #maker #airbrush
