OMG. #GoboLinux is so beta. I love the different package install idea but 1) there is currently no binary package repo 2) running "Compile packagename" fails almost all the time with errors.

#GoboLinux gehört mit seinen 23 Jahren zu den Urgesteinen der #Linux-Distributionen und ist trotzdem nur einem kleinen Kreis von experimentierfreudigen Anwendern bekannt. Das liegt vermutlich daran, dass GoboLinux den seit 1993 von den meisten Distributionen genutzten Filesystem Hierarchy Standard #(FHS ) neu gedacht hat.

I wonder whether the applications like Firefox are not exactly the best candidates for giving up and using #Flatpak only. Although, perhaps #GoboLinux is exactly the distro, which doesn’t want to use Flatpaks?

@housepanther @Linux_Is_Best @torvalds BSD is a more unified world. FHS is a barely maintained standard, some distros like #NixOS or #Gobolinux even not to obey this standard by design

#kisslinux is the most sensible distro I've encountered so far. Deep respect. #oasislinux comes close. My own upcoming distro will be standing on the shoulders of these giants and then add some #gobolinux ideas.

@jk supposedly yes — I don't recommend it for running a server, obviously. but for a user machine the attack vector is essentially the browser. plus, using a crazy non-standard distro like #GoboLinux means the script-kiddie stuff probably doesn't even work out of the box (granted, that latter point is sort of security by obscurity)
