Squeeze - Sweets from a Stranger

Here's where we all found out that Squeeze *could*, indeed, make a less-than-stellar album.

Includes the great song Black Coffee in Bed, and nothing else really worth mentioning.

They'd break up after this, and get back together a year or so after...and put out more OK stuff until recently, when they suddenly got their mojo back...and were rewarded with lackluster sales.

The universe is unfair.

"Tempted" is a song by the British rock band #Squeeze. Written by the Squeeze songwriting team of #GlennTilbrook and #ChrisDifford, the song features lyrics inspired by Difford's experiences on an American tour and an arrangement inspired by #theTemptations. "Tempted" is one of a few Squeeze songs with #PaulCarrack as lead vocalist, at the suggestion of producer #ElvisCostello. "Tempted" was released as the second #single from their fourth album, #EastSideStory.

Glenn Tilbrook - Happy Ending

The Difford/Tilbrook partnership, in Squeeze, always involved Difford sliding lyrics under Tilbrook's door, where he'd write the music, and more times than not: classic song.

Their solo output has been less successful, but still enjoyable. This is Tilbrook's last effort, from 2014, and all acoustic (which isn't to say only guitar). It can be a little twee sometimes, but overall it'd good stuff.
