✅ James Cromwell (Cochrane in Star Trek First Contact) guest stars in the pilot episodes - tall enough to play a character be slightly taller than Rossif, cast in the role his father Donald was once contracted to play.
✅ Produced on location in Gibsons BC, where beloved Canadian sitcom ‘The Beachcombers’ was set and made. Even the ‘Molly’s Reach’ cafe plays itself once again.
⁉️ While the books were set in BC, and the show is set in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast, the show is pretending it’s American and that the BC coast is relocated to Oregon.

Visually, the air looks like a cool, foggy, rainy day on Howe Sound, maybe a day in late September, but it is actually a bit warm and there is grey smoke in the air. It is smokey enough that you can smell it if you try, but if you are not thinking about it, there is no obvious oddity to the smell. Visibility is limited and the far mountains are obscured beyond two miles or so. The air has been generally still all day.
