I went to search for a site where I can post content for free. I found one, all they do is put some ads and if you are as me you will have an ad block running already.
What I did not expect is a full-blown site builder with everything, including kitchen sinks, 32 channel mixing consoles, 18" subwoofers and full range speakers :)
All I need is a place where I put my markdown formatted text directly and get it published immediately.
Now I need to wade through the system to find where I can put in straight markdown text, no formatting from them , no YSWYG editor

I just ran
`wc -m ~/gate/pgm/hugo/quickstart/content/posts/fifth-post-fx2k-reportI.md`
`10034' was the output!
I just saw in this post that markdown is not officially suported on mastodon.
@stefano what is the case on this server? I have md text that I want to display with only unsorted and sorted lists and formatting of bold italic

The review on Level II has grown so much I dont even need to count the characters to know it wont fit in one post. Since I want to retain the smooth markdown formatting, I'll think of a solution (pastebin comes into mind) when I finish it

I've prepared a wonderful Main review of this unit in Mark Down and I've already run it in raw on a Local server in Hugo
I'll post the article later hopefully it fits into One post otherwise I shall cut it into Pieces

I first needed to desolder two rihgt angle connectors from existing pedal patch cables. I replaced them with 180 degree standard connectors, since on the audio device I needed right angles at the inputs.
I also made sure the cables were of identical length so no noticable impedance difference (in dB) could occur. Since I soldered methodically the job took some time (7 connectors 1/4" including one 2 channel cable for a headphone set, which had 2 tip sleeve 1/4" connectors to test group outputs

I need to run additional dual channel audio equipment. Normally I have the patch-cables required close at hand, bought and in stock. This time I decided that even though the cable are at hand, I wanted to solder them by hand.
- Connectors needed -> in stock
- Cable needed in stock {{unbalanced {2 threads} cable}}
- I used XLR (stable) cable instead because this version does not have proper shielding for mics and drops quality using them there. Repurposed its good
- Soldering iron, ready
- Multimeter ready/8

However the compressor pedal I love is the JOYO AVALLON R-19 advertized for Bass / Electric Guitar but usuable on any source which needs compression. Why do I love this one? It shows you how much you compress your signal with leds! So it's full RGB led proof ;)
As you can see these pedals cost way too much if you dont need your compressor on stage under your toes. I need most of my FX in rack mount units so I have done one purchase and may only get other extra effect units if I need to controll more channels seperaterly with channel inserts. The FX2K has only two AUX send receive ports so the need for 6 different FX controlls for a drumkit eg will require 3x FX2K units to cover the drums only.
Vocals times 4 means two units more, strings and guitars means two more. So in practice I will get more FX units when the absolute need occurs, but **only** then/7

This compressor pedal from Universal Audio is a combp with a Limiter chained behind the compressor. The controls are familiar and it's a nice looking pedal

I got this unit for my birthday present kit, since I wanted to be sure I have ALL effects I may need for my basses and mics.
Many bass players are unaware of what pro audio has in stock and they pay USD EUR 400+ for a effect pedal with just a great distorter and a modulator, eg
Since Im an instrument maker and sound engineer first, I will never be caught in that gear nut maelstrom, and purchase wise and deep. There is a gorgeous JHS compressor for USD 135 but it has a one knob compressor, so you dont control the parameters properly

I'm not done then. AN important tool like a multimode effect which is 19" rackmounted is not a toy, even though I **do** __play__ with it. This effect unit has **everything** I would need extra for my electric / acoustic basses / vocal control instrument control, acoustic shaping...
It's so much I want to invite you to read the man-pages before you even buy it, because the 5k characters I have here per post are not enough.
I have
- reverbs
- delays
- modulators
- psycho acoustics
- dynamics
- filters
- parametric / graphical EQ's
- distorters
- AMP simulators
- speaker simulators
- special FX (including genuine authentic Vinyl fx!)If I expand all parameters I have so many effects more, since in hardware many can be daisychaned also. Even more daisychaining can be achieved when more units are physically daisychained with one set of AUX sends going into unit 0 and the returns going into the send of unit 1 with its return going back to the AUX busses of the mixing console if you use two. With more you just chain more in serial more and have an amazing layering effects chain even Quincy would get amazed at ;)

I dont mess around when I study an important piece of audio hardware. First I check to don't in the manual, then look which PPE is needed (for AMP testing earmuffs with an NRR of -24dB) then I study the equipment in orientation, after which I go in deep with parameters of ALL features involved

+++# Sweet review of Behringer _FX2000_
## **Virtualizer & Effects Processor**- The packaging was good, my precious device arrived in perfect order
- I commenced with reading the quickstart guide, which for me was sufficient
since I've been a Sound Engineer for many decades
- I am using the Effect connected to one of my mixing Consoles {Yamaha},
with 1/4" balanced cables on two of the __Aux__ busses
- The interface is logical and easy to understand, positive surprises were
a full compressor with all parameters accessible, and other goodies
you'll just have to buy the effect for...
- The layering c.q daisy chaining of effects internally is also nice.
I have to check the manual to see if you can make your own chain sequence of two effects> ## __Conclusion of first impression__
- Within hours I knew how to effectively move around the **FX2000**
and I love the effect grouping chosen within the standard effect chain
- There is **a lot of goodies** in the Effect, so it will take hours
to test out all effects and play with the variables
- The device runs quite cool and is very nice to look at,
the colours of the display and dash are well chosen and are perfectly readable in a darkened venue
- The knob buttons and dials all feel sturdy and ready to be used for years to come
- I tested the device with a mic from a channel strip also and it worked as intended> ## Report on instrument effects usage will follow
