«He’s never going to be tame», my aunt said when I showed her a video of the cat refusing to be touched.
Two months later, I hear him walking back and forth beside my bed in the morning, waiting for me to wake and tap on the bed for him jump up and join me. He purrs and leans in on the cuddle.
He still won’t allow me to pet him if I come to him. But when he can come to me? Well, let the cuddles begin.

6 years ago: Cinnamon was a very scared baby. We got a batch of foster kittens that were "spicy" and needed socializing. She never quite adjusted. We thought she was ready for adoption after a while, but she went back to being completely feral when we returned her to the shelter. She was very relaxed at our house and all of our cats loved her, so we decided she should stay with us. She is still quite shy!

It's Philippe's 4th gotcha day! This amazing boy started out as a foster for us. He'd been surrendered to the shelter due to chronic tummy problems. It was our job to take care of him while we sorted that out, but we fell deeply in love with him and he had to stay with us. Here's a baby pic!

Today, we would like to highlight a special bunny named Twig for Throwback Thursday. She was found scared and running loose outdoors, which is a death sentence for a domestic rabbit. She quickly bonded with her foster mom and, not surprisingly, quickly became a foster fail. Unfortunately, she passed away from an aggressive brain cancer, but she lived the rest of her life pampered and cherished, and she is missed every day. #ThrowbackThursday #Adopt ##FosterFail

For Throwback Thursday today we bring you a little family, Millie, Neatly, and Wallow. They enjoy destroying cardboard, searching for abandoned or forgotten snacks, and perfecting their half-sploots. Neatly and Wallow are expert Bunny 500 racers, the closer to midnight the better. Millie just wants some peace and quiet, a good rest, and for someone to groom her. We have a Foster Fail 🤷♂️
Simon was supposed to be a temporary visitor, but since no one seems to be taking him from the shelter, and he's clearly a really cool fun guy, we've decided to keep him.
He's a Bombay cat and has 22 toes, so his paws are super meaty. He's a big guy too. 17lbs!
Loves the hang out, play, and eat. Very food motivated, so now we can't leave out the dry food. 😸
Our other cat, Mila, is sloooowwwly warming up to him. Tolerates him, basically. But no longer fat tailed and whiny all the time. She sleeps in my dresser drawer for the moment. Very on brand for this little drama queen.
