A commission for an OC (original character) named Penna based within the Final Fantasy XV universe.
I liked reading Penna's story, learning about how she's learned to live with the cards she's been dealt and still tries to make the world a better place despite her hardships.
I got a request to use guitar, which is an instrument that I don't use often, and it gave me a nudge out of my usual comfort zone and turned out to be sort of its own inspiration in a way.
I really like fingerstyle guitar, so I'm glad I got a chance to incorporate a little bit of that flavor into this piece.

Am 23.10.2025 gibt es das erste Gitarrekonzert der neuen Saison in der Tribüne Linz!
Don Ross und Julie Malia, hierzulande auch bekannt als Jule Malischke, touren gemeinsam auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks. Don hat eine ganze Generation von Gitarristen beeinflusst. Kaum ein anderer hat es dermaßen drauf, so entspannt funky Grooves abzufeuern. Julie bewegt sich mit ihrem brillanten Gitarrenspiel scheinbar mühelos zwischen konzertanter Gitarrenliteratur, perkussiven Fingerstyle-Arrangements und gesungenen Liedern.
Das international gefeierte Gitarren-Duo spielt erstmals gemeinsam in der Tribüne Linz.

Another kid picked up #guitar (and an existing interested kid came home for summer) so I'm already deep into another interest cycle (#adhd)
This time around, I'm apparently determined to improve my strumming and by that I mean basically strumming at all. I usually play #fingerstyle.
I've hated strumming bc I can't get the dynamics down. The accidental genius this time was learning a pattern with 4 different movements in it. Down with finger (all strings), up with finger (high only), thumb on root/low and thumb slap. Way more #music -al
Day One was so slow it sounded like I was repairing the guitar instead of playing it. Day Three now and I can feel twinges in my muscles as if I've been lifting weights.
