Strikes me that nothing much happened in the Fadden by-election. The LNP held a safe seat full of cranky retired geriatrics who’ve never voted Labor in their lives.

The reason for the small swing can be reasonably explained by adding in the conservative voters who in 2022 voted for United Australia party and the Lib Democrats.

UAP vote in 2022 was 6.63%

Lib Dems vote in 2022 was 2.83%

Neither of those 2 parties ran a candidate this time.
