This "defence" also suffers from the anti-fax effect: the more people that use it, the less effective it will become.

If one person implemented this and deployed it on their website, it would be perfectly effective. No scraper would get their content correct.

But as soon as any significant percentage of the content the AI companies want is encoded this way, they will write a decoder and use it, and it becomes nothing but a tiny speedbump.

hm... has anyone ever tried to send a #fax / #facsimile with a microcontroller like an #arduino or a #FlipperZero ?

Unlike the Norton one it uses just a single copy of the original book as its source. Which may mean it is less clear to read in places. But book historian me is a lot happier with this facsimile for authenticity and provenance reasons. But as a book historian, and given it's a limited edition, I'm afraid I can't pass on this.
