"Quick" side project over the last 2 days: Throwing together a GNU Radio receiver & decoder for #EnOcean ERP1 sensor data packets.

Now I can receive temperature data of the building automation thermostats in our makerspace :D

It was surprisingly hard to get GNU Radio to sync and demodulate the binary data reasonably reliable, despite the input signal looking really clean.
I thought this would be easy, because GR was made for this purpose, but apparently not?

… so, “schnell” noch alle nicht fest verbauten Sensoren und Steckdosen auf #Matter migriert, morgen noch den #Enocean-Kram und dann mal schauen, was #Homeassistant so kann! (Ich hoffe es überzeugt mich und ich überlege es mir nicht wieder anders… 😬). #SmartHome

Winkhaus closings for windows advertise that they can supply smart sensors for open/closed status, however it is impossible to buy them online. Need to be a business, and you get a German catalogue, and an email address to contact in the Netherlands... it seems they don't really want to sell.

@publictorsten Gibt auch diverse Möglichkeiten ohne Anbieter Server. Ist in der Anschaffung teurer aber man wird weniger abhängig und kann es sicherer Betreiben.

Et voilà, un collecteur de température pour thermomètres IoT #enocean, qui exporte les données vers #prometheus. C'est fait en #rust.

To my #homeassistant and #smarthome pros: I consider switching my window sensors to #enocean sensors. Do you have experience on their range in a house with conrete walls and floors? My gateway will sit in the cellar, while all sensors will be on ground and upper floors. I guess I’d need at least a repeater on ground floor? Thx!
