  1. My #lab is a #mess ...

(But, instead of cleaning it up, I'm working standing up and placing things over other things 😱)

    #electronics #electronicslab
  2. The new is in place and operational 🥳 ESD mat has been replaced (from 90 to 120 cm long). And is connected to ground 🙂

Now for celebratory cup of tea 🍵

  3. New wireless keyboard and mouse for the have arrived.

ESD mat and oscilloscope is heading this way 🙂

  4. Ordered stuff to upgrade the 😀

Wireless keyboard and mouse, Logitech MX Keys Mini and Signature M650 Large.

A bigger ESD mat, 120x60 cm, instead of 90x60.

    Siglent SDS804X HD 4CH 70MHz 12bit Oscilloscope 🥳

  5. Using my oscilloscope to debug yesterday I (again) realized that I need to get a new one. The one I have is about 20 years old.

Anyway — that motivated me to cleanup the electronics desk and replace the ESD mat. Only to realize the new mat is a bit short. So I guess I'll be ordering a new one.

The desk is spotless at least 🧹

  6. After only a few evenings' work — I am getting close to seeing my desk surface again 🥳

  7. Small #ElectronicsLab project: 15× magnifier with built-in light. It was designed to be lighted from the side, but instead the optics just casts a shadow over the workpiece, because the lamp is too high. I drilled a hole, patched through a cable, soldered scrap LED tape and glued it inside with CA glue. It's powered from the lab supply.

It's quite bright, perfect for reading small markings on elements. 1/

  8. I hope you're having a great Sunday, let me share an idea I got yesterday.

Let's say you're thinking of your next #electronicsLab. You have a space that can be kept reasonably dust free, and at a comfortable temperature, great. For starters, you want to have a zone for soldering and rework: ESD mat, soldering/desoldering station, binocular :microscope:, wire racks, the basics. You also want to have a zone for testing/flashing, with a PC, various power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and maybe some specialized equipment.
