Made good progress today with the resurrection of my lab. Strenuous but definitely worth it.
98% of all the alien stuff that does not belong there is gone. Rest following tomorrow.
Large heavy hanger for lots of dev-tanks and stuff moved to other side of the room. That was a difficult one.
Filled the gained space with a new Fridge-Freeze-Combo. Will go into operation tomorow so that the content - chemistry, paper, bullk film, roll film, sheet film etc. - can move in as well.
My custom made stainless steel bassins and wall covers are fine, just need to be cleared out and rinsed. Looks worse still than it actually is. Soon fully operational.
Same goes for the large+deep universal bassin. Easy thing.
I think I could basically use the lab by this weekend again after a long time.
BUT: The interesting part will be the meticulous inventory and afterwards the thorough testing of my material.
Meaning test shots on various films and film formats, test development, test prints and all...
I am especially curious how well my lith-stuff (Moersch) aged in the old fridge/freezer.
And of course the central (enlargers, lenses ...) and not so central (dryers, washers...) gear will get a thorough clean-up and tests.
So, yes, looks like I am back in the business very soon. :-)
Really means a lot for me and my photographic soul. 😁
