Providing reliable climate predictions on sub-seasonal, seasonal, decadal and longer timescales remains a major challenge in Earth system science. We call for contributions on latest developments in forecasting the Earth system, which have the potential to be translated into climate information leading to a better assessment of climate-related risks.
