It’s settled. I’ve decided to use ToooT on my Apple smartphone. Things I like so far:
1) It allows editing of toots , 2) You can upload GIFs directly without converting to the MP4 video format, 3) You can pin toots, 4) You can read toots in vertical or horizontal format, and, 5) It’s free. Haven’t downloaded it for my Android device, yet. #MastodonApps #EditToots #ToooT

Were you using masto.host? If so we may be able to access more videos that previously didn't load because we used Tor?

Similarly we're interested in being able to #editToots, and upload images now? If you are not sure, we can try to test over the weeks ahead.

We've been forced into using text only on the #Fediverse. As a #Tor user we cannot #uploadImages, #uploadVideos nor #editToots or #deleteToots.

As limiting as that is, we don't mind. Its freeing in a way, as there's no temptation to produce images, which takes time. Even the rushed images that we published on #Failbook took time.

Having said we might be interested in joining the #onionRouter version of the Fediverse - in some capacity ;)

To what extent does is #Mastodon and the #Fediverse in general controlled by #Cloucflare?

The #browserInterface seems to employ #webAssembly to #phonehome to Cloucflare.

Phoning home to Cloucflare seems necessary to #tootImages, #tootVideos, #editToots and #deleteToots.

This is on non-cloucflare based #servers.
