This is the "Dursey Cable Car" (although I guess at a certain point "The Flying Dumpster" must also have been on the shortlist), the only cable car in Ireland. It connect Dursey Island with the mainland.

I guess the unusual design, where the cable car is hanging on two cables, has something to do with the windy conditions. This should stabilise it more, so it can run also in unfavourable weather.

The Cable Car to Dursey Island from 1969 was under mainenance from April 2022 to 1st of June 2023. Now the farmer, cows, sheep, their feeding and the tourist can get to the island again. Brought a guest there yesterday 😊

Worth adding, Dursey Island is also the start / end of the 4700 km E8 Walking Route which passes through Ukraine.

We had good reason to acknowledge this then & now.
