Hardsurface detailing atlas for #Liblast. Made with #Blender and #GrabDoc add-on and post-processed with #MaterialMaker. This is to work with a special #ubershader to let low / mid-poly models look almost hero-like :)
On the left a pre-vis of the final texture on geometry prepared for #DreamUV , on the right source geometry used to bake intermediate maps.
The final texture is in CXOY channel-packing layout. One texture merging curvature, normal and AO parameters.

Here's a quick video demonstrating the WIP asset workflow in Liblast.
It's supposed to minimize manual work allowing artists to make great looking props quickly.
My plan for the future is to also have the assets adjust to the environment they are in (dust/dirt/wear etc.)

This are the results of the today's test of environment work for @liblast! Low poly geo and textures made in Material Maker!

@alasdair We believe in the power of #MaterialMaker in this house! 😎
This is using HotSpot texturing, a technique by valve in which create you a massive atlas of different sizes with detail already there and bevels angle to 45 degrees, then #DreamUV asing each poly (Or the ones you want) to the more similar sized part of the atlas. Here is the atlas and a video of the process.
