After the last decade of dependence, missed opportunities and betrayal, here's a short extract from Lockhart of Carnwath's memoirs of the Union. It was Lockhart who named and shamed Burns' Parcel of Rogues, and uncovered the mostly quite paltry amounts they received for selling out Scotland.

Here he speaks of one of the principal villains, the Earl of Stair.

Very little has changed in the last 300+ years.

The prospect of an unending list of cretins at the helm of HMS Westminster truly fills me with dread. Out of touch, corrupt, entitled and sometimes 'not of this planet' politicians have no place in Scotland's future.

My expectation of improvement of anything in the "U"K🇬🇧 before a #GE is: Zero; after a #GE: microscopically above Zero (assuming it's not another #ERGTory majority.)

Only a reboot of dissolution-sized proportions will truly fix anything, long term, IMO.

(Or 100+ years of #PR, but we can't wait for that.)
