The case for #degrowth as it is generally understood is indeed weak, but AFAIK it still remains to be seen if #decoupling can be fast and thorough enough. The real questions are 1) how much net economic growth is compatible with environmental limits, and 2) how the wealth is shared.

I would desperately like to see UK government decouple the price of electricity from gas. We have just about the most expensive consumer energy prices in the world…but lazy journalism won’t get us there.
