Eames DSW clone repaired (found broken on a curb). Substituted in slightly oversize rubber gaskets where missing plastic spacers were, and used blue thread lock on the replacement M6 screws. Both of the 2 chairs had missing bottom bolts, they apparently work themselves loose fairly quickly due to plastic flexing. Tightened everything else. The rubber gaskets I used are actually superior to the decorative plastic spacers, as they provide some cushion/give on the chair. It would be an upgrade to swap the rest out in the future. I like doing curb find refurb / repurposing projects. This is an old kitchen drawer I found on a morning walk from a house being renovated. It originally had a white painted front with a silver pull.
The houses in my neighborhood were built in the 40s - 50s and so even the plywood is made with old growth wood. This gives an awesome grain pattern.
I stripped off the paint, applied a stain and finished with gloss poly. Added wheels to the bottom and it is now a deep storage drawer under my laser bench. This is 2nd curb find drawer I’ve done like this. #curbfind #woodworking -

Used my palm sander and some 60, 150 and 220 grit sandpaper. To sand off the engravings. One of the large plaques had a vector engraved sea turtle which was the hardest to sand off since the vector engraving was deeper. #

On the morning walk I came across this chest on the curb. It’s cedar lined and not really anything I’m interested in for a project. But inside were some black walnut plaques that were clearly laser engraved. Probably a low watt diode laser.
I think I can sand off the engravings and do my own engravings on them.

Morning walk curb find. This is a nice small drop leaf table with lots of good detail. Unfortunately it’s missing a broken off leg that’s no where to be seen. 😢
I may take it for parts for other projects. Could perhaps see myself wood turning a pestle base and making a small three legs table. 🤔
