Hard to disagree more with @jsnell on his take of #CrystalSkull.

I definitely prefer #TempleOfDoom, but concede that it has many issues and is mostly because of nostalgia.

For #LastCrusade, we’ve already covered the Berlin airport.

The only other scene shot in the Bay Area was the forest motorcycle sidecar chase after Indy & his dad escape Castle Brunwald on the Austro-German border.

This was shot in Mt. Tamalpais State Park, aka Mt. Tam, again in the North Bay, near George Lucas’s ILM.

Neither #CrystalSkull nor #DialofDestiny was filmed at all within Northern California, with the latter shot entirely outside the U.S.

#HarrisonFord can't be believed on these matters. For years he said he'd never play #HanSolo again, yet he did, not only in #ForceAwakens but also in #RiseOfSkywalker. Now he says #DialOfDestiny will be his last #IndianaJones. He also said that about #CrystalSkull.

To my mind, #LastCrusade remains the true finale. It's right in the title. By contrast, #CrystalSkull and #DialOfDestiny were stuck in development for ages and we didn't know if they'd come to fruition.

Yes, the #IndianaJones #Movies have inspired a slew of #Novels, but it's not a canon the movies stick to. It was 18 years between #LastCrusade and #CrystalSkull because the plot *didn't* flow naturally from the character. #GeorgeLucas was locked on his alien idea and #StevenSpielberg - who'd already made Close Encounters and E.T. - rejected the idea for years before giving in.

Is it fair to say #StarWars has more moneymaking potential than #IndianaJones b/c SW is more readily marketed to children, an audience that can renew itself indefinitely? By comparison, only two Indys are marketed to children: #TempleOfDoom (Short Round) and #CrystalSkull (Mutt). For the most part, Indy is an aging historical figure, not someone kids immediately relate to.

I want to go and see the new #IndianaJones film (partly shot in Glasgow)...but I'm still too scarred by the #SouthPark take on #CrystalSkull 🤯 . Plus with the #Sciatica cannot sit in a cinema for that length of time.
Sorry Indy this one will need to wait for streaming.
