#DaisyRidley says she still finds the fan backlash against #RiseOfSkywalker upsetting. My issues w/ Eps. 7-9 are plot-related. I applaud the actors and their performances. I feel Rey could've had a better story not dependent on the Skywalkers nor the Palpatines.

@Mespotine #RiseOfSkywalker hatte vor allem die Aufgabe, lose Enden aus den beiden Vorgängerfilmen der Trilogie zusammenzunähen und abzuschließen. Ich denke, das sollte man bei aller Kritik nicht aus den Augen verlieren. Es war an dem Punkt für bestimmte Fehler aus den beiden ersten Sequels unmöglich, diese noch zu korrigieren. Auch der plötzliche Tod Carrie Fischers (hätte man mal lieber Leia zuerst sterben lassen) brachte ja einige technische und dramaturgische Herausforderungen mit sich.

#TV #StarTrekPicard I've asked myself why this show reused the #Changelings and the #Borg. On one level, the answer is simple. Seasons 1 and 2 tried doing new things w/ Picard, and some fans disliked it, so Season 3 tried to bring back the hits. See also how #TheLastJedi tried to be fresh, fans disliked it, and #RiseOfSkywalker brought back #Palpatine. What? I thought the Borg were no longer a threat. I thought Palpatine was dead. Haha.
Yeah, no.

Don't get me wrong. Were there a lot of toxic people throwing out fan theories when the Star Wars Sequels came out? Sure. But the toxic crowd lampooning The Last Jedi were given too much fuel by the lack of unified vision that the creators failed to come with, you know, before they started making movies. (I liked The Last Jedi mostly, but The Rise of Skywalker kind of ruined it for me.)

The biggest issue with Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy is that they started with the idea, "How do we sell more merch?" and built from there. Driven by accountants, not storytelling.

It was good. Go see it.
Not perfect, but it makes sense. Sums things up. Has plenty of fan service. There are some decisions I think were unnecessary, but it’s fine. I did NOT expect the Jar Jar twist, but it all makes sense now.
