@yggverse CRXN is not necessarily encrypted. Each participant is free to use any transport protocol they choose for peering. However, WireGuard and fastd are very popular on CRXN. There is no rule or policy prohibiting the use of GRE.
CRXN is connected to other mesh networks, including dn42 and NeoNetwork. -

Looking for #mesh network without any private-key-based encryption on transport layer. Is there any working #CRXN alternative to test? https://codeberg.org/CRXN/docs

I took the liberty of writing about it:

Which Babel settings (max-rtt, min-rtt and rtt-cost/max-rtt-penalty) should I use for my dn42 and CRXN network?

Some time ago I asked myself what happens if I have a case with traceroute where a response comes from two different addresses. I then develop crazytrace. The project is available on CodeBerg under the GPL3: https://codeberg.org/mark22k/crazytrace Today I also tried to roll out the project on reseau.mk16.de (CRXN) and it worked!

New small mobile CRXN router :-) (Gl.Inet Mango with OpenWrt)

Months of work trying to get this finalized and now it's here - the CRXN x dn42 network inter-connection!

The CRXN/DN42 interconnection is up. 🥳 🎉 🥳 🎉 🥳 🎉

Edit: I also wrote a blog entry about it: https://mk16.de/blog/the-crxn-dn42-interconnection-is-up/ or in German https://mk16.de/blog/die-crxn-dn42-interconnection-ist-up/

Got some interesting routing issues to hunt down this weekend on #CRXN (http://deavmi.assigned.network/projects/crxn/) -
Spent the last week or so in an effort to re-wire (and reconfigure) parts of my home network (and CRXN) into something more aesthetically pleasing and manageable.
All part of my effort to host everything using solely IPv6 - sunsetting any IPv4 aspects of this network that I am aware of by the 31st of December I hope.
You can find out more about CRXN with these links:

I wonder how long it will take for the other search engines to find the page.... #crxn

Found some incredibly old #CRXN docs from back in the day (3 years ago) and this was still when we were using static routing between routers 😂 - happy to have moved on to dynamic protocols like Babel.

Today I got a Gl.Inet Mango router. On this router is now installed: bird for a connection to #CRXN, #Yggdrasil and WireGuard for a secure connection to my servers.
The installation was not easy. The result are three issues on GitHub.

Added some information about some of the things available over #CRXN and some network debugging techniques one can use

Working on this now - if anyone wants to help make a search engine for CRXN services or a liveliness checker based on this - that would be great! #CRXN #Ipv6
This API should make grabbing all the needed information easy!

I just helped a Romanian lad peer a router onto #CRXN whilst dual stacking by running in #dn42 as well.
Sharing the same kernel routing table but not sharing routes within Bird, was a great time to put some AdLib usage of route attributes and I got it to work!
The BIRD Internet Routing Daemon is honestly amazing. -
It’s about time I give you guys an update on my homelab seeing as a significant amount of it has changed.

Interesting things that Raspberry Pi's are susceptible to
Happened that my DNS server, which runs on the Pi below, turned off whilst I was taking some photos for my upcoming #CRXN blog

Can't wait to work on #CRXN in the holidays again! -
For future #CRXN operations my side, I am thinking of switching away from #Raspbian on the #Pis and just buying one of these, has the onboard ports I need and #OpenWRT which is the main thing I really care about - that bloat-free life with a webUI that focuses solely on networking

Some fun stuff to play with whilst away from home.
Can experiment when stuff I want to install at home

I do really appreciation the fact that you can configure the network LIVE in #FedoraServer.
#Fedora #CRXN #BNET -
Going to start using #VLANs (Ethernet tagging) very soon on my #Mikrotik #RouterBOARD along with my #SwitchOS ethernet switch (managed) that I have. Will make for a nice clean setup regarding some aspects of my network I would like to manage as such.
I would like to physically seperate the home LAN traffic and the #CRXN. In my current setup it won't do that, however, I do know a future setup where it would make a lot of sense, it would be the case where the other switch on the other end of the trunk directly connects to the #CRXN network but then ALSO must provide IPv6 clearnet connectivity. -
Building #unrealircd for linking a new #BNET node into our IRC network! The network shall grow!
I am also going to end up peering it over #CRXN to my lockdown.bnet node. The #ccc (#ColumbusCoffeePot) project will have its own IRC server just for this.
Why?
Cause why not 😎
