I did some painting today. It's all undercoats so they're nothing much to look at yet. When I did paintings over ten years ago, I just did what I wanted and didn't consider the commercial side of things. I knew they wouldn't necessarily be sellable because of being too large and too black, but now I am taking the commercial side more seriously. I would like to make a living making art and if being a bit commercial is what it takes, then I don't mind doing that.

My paintings are smaller and I'm using colour more. That doesn't mean they are going to sell however, but I'm trying to make them into desirable objects at least.

I’ve been going through a bit of an artistic rut where I don't like what I draw because my technique is at a point where it can’t really draw what I see in my head.
