This was so foreseeable. Alas, I cannot link back to my #DeadBirdSite posts of that period anymore.

Just 3 points:

1) David #Ricardo's #ComparativeAdvantage* (and his successors like Gottfried #Haberler or Y. #Shiozawa) might have shown that a nation is always better off trading internationally, in particular with its neighboring countries, due to lower transport costs.

The only main comparative advantages are climate-based or based on #geology and geography. The rest is largely about #labourExploitation and propensity for #environmentalAbuses in our view.

Wonder what #MichaelParenti's view on Comp'Adv would be? ;)
