  5. Multireplace in #ChoiceScript makes varying text easy if you're good at remembering what each numeric variable value means. Ahahaha.

    @{(memory_level) You remembered what 1, 2, and 3 stand for!|You think you remembered. You didn't. Have fun debugging.|Where's that cheat sheet again?}

  8. Today I have been down a very long rabbit hole chasing why the PC was incorrectly being sent to location B or location C when actually they should be in location A. Several hours later, I finally found the two numbers that were wrong in this 42,000-word chapter. Arrgh.

    On the up side, in the process, I found a #ChoiceScript fork that allows outputting a transcript of the game text and choices from a given playthrough, which will definitely be useful in playtesting:

  11. This morning, still debugging:

    Quicktest: Everything's fine now! You're doing so good!

    Randomtest: I ran six times before I fell over, so let's call that a 6/10,000 chance of your game working right now. Are you proud of yourself?

  14. Now debugging.

    Quicktest: Everything's fine here! You're doing so good!

    Randomtest: I ran 10,000 times, and everything looks ship-shape. Good for you.

    Me: *actually adds the command to run the most recent chapter to the startup file*

    Quicktest: UNCLEAN UNCLEAN UNCLEAN

    Randomtest: I ran once and couldn't finish, please invent a way for debugging scripts to get drunk before I have to look at any more of this.

  17. Does anyone have #ChoiceOfGames, #HostedGames, or #ChoiceScript game recs? #TwineGames are ok too but only ones with no graphics, music, or left frame please.

    My past faves are the #FallenHero series, #180Files, #TheExile, and #AMageReborn series among others.
