CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- "People with a broken piece of jewelry or some clothing that needs to be fixed might be able to get it done for free at an upcoming event.
"The Cville TimeBank will be holding a Repair Café at the Scrappy Elephant on Allied Street on April 26.
"Attendees can bring up to three items in need of repair.
"Volunteers will be on hand to fix items. Repairs will be limited to 25 minutes if there are others waiting for assistance.
"However, organizers say there will be no jewelry soldering or extensive bead restringing at this event.

According to the state of Virginia's "Offender Locator," Alex Michael Ramos -- sentenced to six years for his role in the racist group attack on DeAndre Harris at "Unite the Right" in 2017 -- will be released tomorrow, Dec 15th.

https://archive.vn/9ElcgPrior to traveling from Georgia to Virginia for "Unite the Right," Ramos was active in the III% Security Force militia here in Georgia. That far-right militia subsequently tried to downplay Ramos' role within it. However, in June 2017 we photographed Ramos at an Islamophobic rally in Atlanta wearing a patch identifying him as having the rank of "Sgt." in the group:
https://twitter.com/afainatl/status/1344180771146252288Ramos was also active in the "Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights," which was the "tactical" wing of the Proud Boys circa 2017.
Despite identifying as Puerto Rican, Ramos appears to have received support from white supremacists while imprisoned. Attached is a screen-capture of now-deleted Telegram comments from Will Planer ("Triumph of the Will"), a member of the racist/fascist Patriot Front, from early last week. The comments were posted in a white power clothing/merch store's Telegram channel. Planer complains that the Proud Boys did not support Ramos enough while he served his sentence & suggests that Planer plans to see Ramos once Ramos is released.
Predictably, prison does not appear to have caused Ramos to put any distance between himself and the far-right. We -- not the authorities and prisons -- keep us safe. We protect each other & our communities.
