Unlock-kód jsem tedy měl a mohl jsem se vrátit na stránku instalace #CalysOS do 📱 "Moto G84 5G", která byla stále připojená k 💻:

Spustil jsem device-flasher (dle instrukcí)
./device-flasher.linux

Chtělo to odemknout bootloader (UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER), což jsem v 📱 potvrdil a vložil kód na odemknutí (přišel mi do e-mailu).

Pak jen 💻 Flash flashoval nový systém do 📱, byl jsem nervózní, trvalo to snad 10 minut, na 💻 se objevovali nějaké zprávy, co dělá.

Nakonec se mne BOOTLOADER v 📱 zeptal, jestli chci BOOTLOADER zase uzamknout, s čímž jsem souhlasil.

Pak už jen restart a klasické zprovoznění nového 📱, jak jsem znal třeba ze systému #Android, tentokrát ale v #CalysOS 💚.

Všiml jsem si, že v základu #CalysOS byla i aplikace Signal 💚👍🏻, což ale deklarují na https://calyxos.org/ a ještě jsem zahlédl, že je k dispozici můj oblíbený browser #DuckDuckGo 👍🏻💚.

Protože jsem instalaci dělal před dovolenou, nebyl pak už čas na migraci ze starého 📱 ani na vyzkoušení různých módů přidání vybraných aplikací z Google play https://calyxos.org/docs/guide/microg/ ani na instalaci aplikací z F-Droid a Aurora Store.

To mne čeká, až budu mít zase čas a trochu klidu 🤔😬. Zkusím se donutit napsat zkušenosti sem do tohohle 🧵 (a dřív, než přesný postup pozapomenu ☺️🤷🏻‍♂️).

I can't go back to Vanilla Android. My distrust for goog runs way too deep.

When I became "privacy woke" in 2019, I exchanged my inexpensive-ish android phone (Nokia 6.1) for a hand-me-down iPhone. I didn't trust Apple either, but I figured their "privacy theater" (making a show of privacy values) was better than google's open and incredibly invasive spying.

Then I learned more about privacy-enhanced Android builds like #CalysOS and #GrapheneOS, and I left the iPhone when my iPhone 7+ contracted the "audio chip sickness" and required earbuds to do any audio out.

If CalyxOS or other privacy-enhanced android builds become untenable, then I'll either try some kind of janky Linux phone, or just get an iPhone and use it mostly like a dumbphone.

Noch ein paar Tipps für Menschen mit #GrapheneOS und #Android-Systeme ohne Cloud/Google-Konto:

1) Kümmert euch so schnell wie möglich um automatische Sicherungen bzw. Datenspiegelungen. Ich nutze dafür u.a. #Syncthing bzw. #SyncthingFork und sichere meine Daten, so bald zwei meiner Geräte online sind.

2) Sorgt dafür, dass mindestens eure wichtigen Apps automatische Sicherungen in euren Systemspeicher anlegen, die ihr in euren Backupprozess aufnehmt. #Signal, #Aegis (2FA/TOTP), SMS Import / Export (sichert auch Kontakte) und viele weitere freie Apps können das.

3) GrapheneOS, #LineageOS, #CalysOS und weitere Android-Varianten haben mit #Seedvault (Einstellungen -> System -> Sicherung) eine automatische, verschlüsselte Datensicherung, die ihr aber einrichten müsst. Bei Bedarf kann hier auch direkt in eine #Nextcloud gesichert werden

4) Fotos und Videos eurer Kamera auf jeden Fall automatisch sichern, wenn sie euch etwas bedeuten. (2/2)
