    > Who wants to convert Bandcamp to a co-op?

Yes please! Reddit too. Remember the #BuyTwitter campaign?

... and the Zebras Unite community and Exit to Community strategy that came out of it?

This is the perfect way to save BandCanp, Xitter *and* Spezzit from death by a thousand cuts.

  2. "Are you fed up with feeling like your voice gets drowned out by the chaos of unaccountable mainstream social media?

... You’ll leave this conversation with a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the tech industry, the importance of avoiding over-commitment to one platform, and the existence of alternative approaches to creating more accountable and user-centric social media platforms."

  3. Should I apply to be new Twitter CEO? Or just #buyTwitter?

  4. @schock exactly! A lot of the large scale harms that we see in platforms like Twitter and fb are related to the emphasis and deliberate design choices to grow as quickly and seamlessly as possible. We don't have that here, but that won't stop all the abuse. We definitely need cross-instance TOE (a thing we came up with at #buytwitter - Terms of Engagement over TOS). We also need a focus on those who are harmed, their needs, and on transforming community cultures that enable harm.

  5. #NathanSchneider is talking about the #BuyTwitter campaign and how it came out of an existing #PlatformCooperative movement. #SharingEconomy corporations tried to convince regulators to share ownership with their users, as tech companies have done with workers, but #DemocraticManagement? Exit options, acquisition or IPO. What about an #ExitToCommunity option.

  6. Asking for a friend: What kind of revenue do people in the "Buy Twitter" initiative think that Twitter Inc. could mainly earn, when the ownership of the company has been transferred to the users? Would they still come from advertising as is the case now?
