  1. Kollar på the witcher: blood origin.
Jag förstår varför den fick skit när den släpptes. Men jag gillar den. Snabb action och high fantasy hela vägen till 11.

  2. I watched"The Witcher: Blood Origin" on Netflix yesterday. It's a "limited series", apparently from last year, of four episodes telling the tale of how the first Witcher came to be.

I won't spoil it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It *is* violent and at points gory. But if you enjoy "The Witcher" universe, I highly recommend it.

  7. I have a problem with the review the Guardian puts out. For the same film they'll publish two reviews, one glowing and the other damning.

You could say this is for balance. But really it's for social media clicks. It's cynical.

Plus, they hype stuff only to drop it later with out explanation of what changed their mind (see Rings of Power).

How long before this one is retracted?

  11. I feel like before the executive reshoots and edits there was probably a much better #Witcher #BloodOrigin story where Dylan Moran played an Elfish James Connolly...

  16. CW: The Witcher moderate spoiler

Maybe my brain has softened but I'm rewatching from the start after watching , and this time I'm enjoying it.

Blood Origin is much better in structure and pacing, imo, but at least now I have some understanding of the rules of this world.

I mean, when I realized in episode 4 that we've been given the seemingly chronological story out of order, why?

Maybe 7 and 8 will explain that, but it feels like unnecessary "cleverness".

  21. I just watched #thewitcher #bloodorigin @Netflix and all I can say is, whichever producer or show runner approved the dead tired line of “This ends NOW!” in the final episode should be run out of town, or cut off from any more cases of the self-celebratory champagne that dulled their judgement.

    #StoryIsEverything. #SetDesign and #costume are not #story.

    What a bad time.

  23. The most satisfying part of is the diversity of the cast, from the leads, to secondary and minor characters, to background actors.

And not just non-diverse "diversity" (gender and race), but a few featured characters outside the physical norms for any type of entertainment.

One actor is deaf and signed in the show, one is a bad ass killing machine chaotic neutral dwarf, and one has cerebral palsy which wasn't hidden.

I don't think I've seen such in a major production.

  28. Yes, was better than the four episodes of I watched a while back.

Watching the "making of" Blood Origin really helped me understand what the world of The Witcher is all about, something the main series completely failed at.

I'm willing to restart the series and see if having some deep backstory helps make the story better.

I guess they expected only viewers who'd read the books or played the game(s)?

  36. Rewatching some Witcher before launching into the new season and have finally come to a place where I am 100% in favor of Yennefer's blue rope battle dress. Thank you for your patience.

  43. #TheWitcher #BloodOrigin startet leider ziemlich langweilig. Die erste Folge konnte mich nicht überzeugen. Weiß nicht, ob ich das weiterschauen werde :(
