If you're worried about your bike getting stolen, grinder-resistant D-locks are the way to go. Here's a video with destructive testing to see which of the options survive the best and resist twisting attacks. I have a Hiplok D1000, which fared well.

Does there exist some sort of bike lock that is a wire on a spool, that you just drag out of its box and around a pole to lock it up?
Not the safest thing for long time storage, of course, but I think it could be a more hassle free way of just parking for a quick pop-in to a shop or a café or something than having to use a normal lock.
Anyone heard of something like this?

First non-bike errand with my #bike -- i.e., not a 🚲 repair/checkup/wash trip. 😃👍
No #bikeRack. I guess #bicycles don't come here much.
Preparing to leave my bike unattended took much longer than the actual errand, which literally took < 1 min.
I am realizing the coily lock is cumbersome to use. A long lock is good for different parking scenarios, but for a trip like today where there isn't even a proper 🚲 rack, me thinks I can do with 1 or 2 simpler* locks. 🤔
