I don't want to think ... I want to drink.
Anna Lucasta, the 1959 film starring Eartha Kitt & Sammy Davis Jr as well as a stellar supporting cast had an interesting history.
Originally written as a play by Philip Yordan depicting a Polish American family, it was rewritten by American Negro Theater Director Abram Hill + Henry Wagstaff Gribble for an all African-American cast. After the success of this new version the script headed to Hollywood for a film version in 1949 ... but filmed with a white cast it was not a success.#earthakitt #annalucasta #blackhollywood #filmhistory #filmclips #sammydavisjr #arnoldlaven #film #movies #50s #fifties #fiftiesstyle #filmstowatch #cinema #cinéma #filmworld #kino

#ArnoldLaven's The Monster That Challenged the World (1957) is one of the earliest, if not thé earliest, example of this peculiar movie and television trope: the coroner's lunchbreak. Having some cold cuts over some cold cuts never gets old. Or appetising.
