We are officially approaching the halfway mark on this new ARMA 3 map!
It has been a rough grind fighting through high difficulty, but tonight is all about turning the corner on our arsenal. We are targeting high-value sectors to secure better loadouts and heavy gear to push us through the rest of the campaign.

Finished the #ARMA3 Contact DLC on stream tonight! Ending could have been better, felt like a lack of direct impact vs the larger threats. Still had fun though. Time to move on to other games on the playlist.

We didn't quite wrap up the campaign over the weekend, so tonight in Arma 3 we are finishing the job.
The squad is heading back to Winter Tanoa to push through the final objectives and take full control of the map. Come watch us try to bring this cold-weather campaign to a victorious close.

We made some great progress over the weekend in our Winter Tanoa campaign, but we are not slowing down in #Arma3 tonight.
The squad is mounting up to push deeper into cold territory with our sights set on capturing a second airbase. Securing this airfield will completely change our strategic options on the island.

CW: Arma III : Contact spoilers
Just finished #Arma3 Contact.
I gotta say I absolutely loved the whole story! It's nothing oscar worthy of course but it's always nice to have a first contact story that's not "kill the alien".
At first everyone is shitting their pants, tryizto regroup and completely lost, but with some help from a scientist you start getting into sampling missions. You basically get to the tendrils and get your cute little tracked drone to poke at them to get study samples. Along the way you're also playing with a radio jammer and make the baddies gtfo from your objectives.
Then the mother ship drops.
Of course local forces are playing with their big toys but you're meeting with the Russians (don't forget alternate timeline 2035 not actual 2026) and fending off the kaboomers in order to avoid the aliens doing a dino bye-bye day to humanity.
Frankly a good time ! I enjoyed the characters, the voice over and the Arma engine really shines at night!
On the milsim side, the more I try fps and tps the less I like them. I find the Arma style so much more interesting; you take the time to prep, go around, and then 12 seconds of adrenaline. It's way more of the hitman style than a classic shooter.
It's oftentimes deeply discounted, it's worth keeping on the watch list and making a list of solo scenarios from the workshop. Arma is like Minecraft: vanilla is fun for five minutes but then you mod it. There's even a mod to have naval warfare, with sails and all 🤣
That was my review of Contact, and my appreciation post for Arma.
PS : if you're wishlisting Arma III, plan on getting the platinum edition, many mods are dependent on some of its content, especially Helicopters and Marksmen (tho my friend didn't have any issue logging to my server, might be that only the server needs it ? If someone more knowledgeable can explain it's appreciated)

We are officially entering the brutal mid-game of our Winter Tanoa campaign in Arma 3!
We secured our very first airbase last week, but now the real work begins. Tonight's stream is all about holding that vital strip against aggressive counter-attacks while trying to push the line forward. This map does not make it easy.

We might have traded the humid jungle heat for a sub-zero freeze on the new Winter Tanoa map, but Arma 3 always finds a way to make us suffer.
We are still in the early stages of the campaign, and while our usual jungle struggles are mostly handled, the freezing weather is throwing brand new tactical hurdles at us.

Idea for the #420thDelta and other #Zeus style #Arma3 servers:
Include supply line (driving/airdropping in ammo and supplies) and cleanup/humanitarian missions (eg, picking up the war dead, evacuating/providing aid to civilians that got caught in the middle, securing dropped weapons, removing UXO). Make pushing forward without doing at least the basic humanitarian work expensive like it is IRL).
