This is rather neat!
It's a shame however that DayOne doesn't support multiple locations attached to an entry. I like to list everywhere I've been in a day.
I've also found their UI to be a little less inspiring compared to Apple Journal...Though at least it actually works properly on MacOS.

I wrote this two months ago, and I swear every time I use it I find more bugs.
Todays? Trying to delete a location from a journal sometime just does not work. Nothing happens.It's embarrassing how bad it is.

So I managed to convert my #AppleJournal entries and import them as JSON into #DayOne so that I don’t have to start on a blank slate. Now I can make use of #MicroBlog automatically pushing my public entries to my DayOne journal 📓

Anyone using the #AppleJournal app? It's underrated for mental health!
Personalized suggestions and photo/location features make reflection easier for me. Plus, with iCloud end-to-end encryption and the option to lock the app with Face ID, my thoughts feel truly private and secure.

Apple może wkrótce zintegrować swoją aplikację Journal z Apple Intelligence.
Apple wprowadziło aplikację Journal w iOS 17.2, ale jest ona dość podstawowa w porównaniu z innymi na rynku.
Nowy patent sugeruje jednak, że Apple pracuje nad integracją Journal z Apple Intelligence, aby oferować inteligentne sugestie.
Patent zgłoszony w Biurze Patentów i Znaków Towarowych Stanów Zjednoczonych (USPTO), który ujawnia wiele ulepszeń, nad którymi firma pracuje dla swojej aplikacji Journal. Pokazuje, że aplikacja może w przyszłości proponować użytkownikom zapisywanie wspomnień po określonych aktywnościach, takich jak treningi czy robienie zdjęć.
Planowana jest także integracja z Kalendarzem i Przypomnieniami oraz nowy interfejs chronologiczny.
Na razie Apple nie ogłosiło oficjalnie tych zmian ani ich nie zapowiedziało. Prawdopodobnie zrobi to dopiero podczas WWDC 2025.
Dlaczego warto pisać dziennik?
O tym dlaczego w dzisiejszych czasach regularne pisanie dziennika jest dosłownie na wagę złota mówiłem (bardzo szeroko) w jednym z odcinków mojego podcastu. Była to rozmowa z dr Piotrem Stankiewiczem, a ja sam dziennik prowadzę regularnie (codziennie) od 8 lat. Polecam!

The journal update is nice, however I really hope it comes to iPad and macOS, as I definitely would prefer typing out my journal with a full keyboard.
The streak feature is well made, especially that it has a secondary notification reminder that you can choose to send to help you keep your streak.
Also, is it new that we can now export our journal entries? (Last photo)

First glance at the new Apple "Journal" app. Rather simple at the moment, but usable. Also got suggestions and presentations of the suggestions.
This will be a massive blow to existing journaling apps like #DayOne and maybe #Bear. Apple will be able to provide smarter suggestions as they natively have access to all the surveillance power of your device. Other apps can't be as good, as they will not have access to for instance live movement data due to privacy restrictions in iOS.

Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t allow you to write much in the description for that state of mind entry. So even though a lot of the more prolific writers and daily journalists out there, say that the Apple Journal app is too simple, keeping in mind that I have not tried it yet, I think it’ll be perfect for people like myself! #AppleJournal #iOS172
