  1. The tech billionaire war on "woke" is really a war on workers

pretending it's about masculinity is a good way to distract from the mundane fact that, like a stereotypical capitalist parasite, Zuckerberg has adopted a hostile posture towards his own workers. Perhaps, like so many of the hyper-rich before him, he doesn't like being reminded that, without his staff, he would be nothing…

  2. @nixCraft USA Today hasn't been a relevant news source for over a decade, it's a rag with little journalistic integrity owned by the rich. Are we all that surprised that it is #antiworker ?

  3. “From Texas and Florida to Missouri, Kentucky, and Delaware, the self-proclaimed ‘party of the working class’ is proudly championing a race to the bottom in which local government is irrelevant and the priorities of business interests are seen as synonymous with the public good.”

  4. Taken from something I saw on Facebook (uploaded).

The Chick-fil-A thing will always be something I have different thoughts on, because I think it disproportionately puts the responsibility for #bad #capitalism on the backs of poor people and minorities. We tend to think of the #ChickFilA problem in a sense of people living in an area where there must be lots of options and who have money, time, and transportation to make choices between them; but, this simply isn't the case.

It also focuses on the idea that "any other #corporation is better than Chick-fil-A" which is most likely false, particularly in a world of companies that are heavily #antiworker, and while Chick-fil-A wears their conservativism on their sleeve, it doesn't mean other companies are any better behind the scenes in the same areas (eg: slapping #rainbows on things doesn't make it better, it just makes crappy capitalism palatable to the public).

It also doubles down on the idea that the people responsible for #corporate #greed and shitty behaviour are the people on the receiving end of services, which is absolutely bonkers to me. We tend to lay into this idea that we can all stop bad companies if we just band together and boycott, but what we need is better policies and procedures from the top down that make the world a better place so we don't need to revolt in the first place.

Ultimately, if you have the ability to make a choice, of course I'd always urge choosing elsewhere. But I'm not going to judge you either way, because the responsibility for that corporation's shittiness is not your personal cross to bear, particularly if you don't have a lot of options.

And I would still raise a fist to defend every single victim of #discrimination, any day of the week. I just don't feel this entire issue can be neatly contained within a single #tweet or whatever the heck this was.

  5. The same day that GOOGL announces thousands of layoffs, their stock goes up over 5%. Imagine that. #greed #antiworker

  6. Got informed by the union president that the "Freedom" Foundation is emailing VSEA members with anti-worker propaganda

Not a surprise that they are funded by the Koch's.
