I just did #Edinburgh to #London ~400 miles in ~4 hours. Not 250 mph but not shabby either.

What a shame it is in the #US where we don't even have a direct train connection between two of the largest cities, #SanFrancisco and #LosAngeles, in one of the largest and most prosperous states in the nation.

The journey (also ~400 miles) takes 9 and a half hours by train and requires bus transfers on both ends! #Amtrak #California

Loving how #Amtrak integration is proceeding. It now parses most of my tickets, and will happily attach bar codes to existing travel segments (and not only segments parsed out of a ticket).

I have to go to BUF in October. I’d like to take #Amtrak but my options are:

1. Lake Shore Limited - leave BOS at noon, arrive BUF 01:00.

2. Regional to NYC, then Empire Service to BUF. Leave ~06:00, arrive 21:00.
