Today’s academic, who has been permanently muted from my timeline, is something to do with Management at a Yorkshire University.
Shame that they were unable to set an example to others, by including ALT tags for the images they attached to their posts.

Today’s academic, who has been muted forever, is an associate professor and an associate director of research at an Edinburgh university.
I’m perplexed that their research doesn’t extend into the importance of including ALT tags to media they post online. Especially as this makes the internet accessible for all.

I’m starting to see a trend that weekend-only Mastodon users can’t be bothered to add ALT tags to their photos, images, flyers and other media that they post.
It doesn’t matter how talented a photographer you are, or how engaging your event is going to be, if you’re not inclusive, then that says much more to me, about the kind of person you really are.

I am noticing more and more people skipping adding alt tags to their images here in the #fediverse.
This is an #accessibility issue - alt tags describe your image to those with vision challenges.
