New blog post for this month's Emacs Carnival on underappreciated built-in Emacs features although I'm cheating because I'm talking about a feature that is not actually built in (and I missed the chance when a previous Emacs carnival was on packages... 🤪). The blog post is about rec mode, an all-text database system.

? for anyone who uses #AltText to “see” the image included in a post. What can I do better?
When I link to an article, I look at the image the article’s going to use & put a description at the bottom of my post above the link.
If it’s a #bluesky or other chat link & when I click on the link & they’ve already done an AltText, I write #AllText included in link.
When a post seems too important not to share but has no AltText, I follow that boost with an #Alt4You description.

Based on the first item in the search results, I think not only does the OCR work great, but the algorithm also seems to sort by the most relevant match 😂
