So sad to hear about the Jasper evacuation due to #wildfires. While I haven’t been there in years (live in Manitoba now), I went to Jasper almost yearly while growing up in Edmonton. Hope that everyone gets out safely and that the town can be spared.

I also hope that Canadians see the wake-up call screaming at them loud and clear over the last few years: #ClimateChange is here and things are changing fast. #ABfire

This sounds bad.

These merged wildfires were discovered on July 10, were caused by lightning and are classified as out of control. This merged wildfire is located approximately:
