🏴🚉 More than 1,000 volunteers have contributed almost 48,000 hours over the past year to improve railway stations across #Scotland through ScotRail’s Adopt a Station programme.
A total of 214 stations are supported by community groups, schools, charities and local organisations, with projects including gardens, wildlife habitats and displays celebrating local heritage.
At Aberdour in Fife, volunteers have improved station gardens and created wildlife habitats. In Kirkconnel, the 1st Kelloholm Guide Group has cleared neglected land and planted flowers. Volunteers at Helensburgh Upper have boosted biodiversity, while Friends of Newtonmore have restored planting areas and improved the station entrance.
#ScotRail Communications Director Paul McKay praised volunteers for making stations more welcoming and strengthening links between the railway and local communities.
