@JoeWynne okay- I get it now, we’re NOT using the soda maker the way it’s intended but merely as a pressure vessel, since putting pop in a cocktail shaker is s poor decision, this should be fun! Also noting that this is a five-fer recipe, but a light one at a little over an ounce per drink. I’ll halve it as written and have one uncle sized drink… #monsterdrinks #cocktail i found the recipe on inshaker (https://us.inshaker.com/cocktails/451-finish-him) and will try to follow it as best as possible otherwise 🍸😀

Chainsaws for all! I live on a rural island where we share all our tools
Victoria Namkung
Mon 3 Jun 2024 10.00 EDTExcerpt: "For almost 10 years, I’ve been a member of the #VashonIsland #ToolLibrary. Now I’m a volunteer and board member. The library opened in 2015 and works just like one with books, except we have 1,500-plus hand, battery or electric tools that the community can borrow. We have power washers, battery-powered extension saws, tall fruit ladders, cement mixers, tile cutters, leaf blowers, weed wrenches and more.
"The library is like the best neighbor you ever had. Imagine if the person at the end of your block had 1,500 tools and they’d show you how to use them. I’ve personally used tools from the library to make fences around my property. I’ve made picture frames and gates and repaired trees and trimmed my hedges.
"On top of that, we’re keeping huge amounts of products out of the landfill and giving people the ability to reuse those tools and the skills to do it. It’s a great thing from a zero-waste perspective. There are 23 tool libraries in #WashingtonState, so it’s a big movement. On #Vashon, we also have a #MedicalEquipmentLibrary and a farming equipment library.
"According to our own extensive research, Vashon is thought to be the largest #RuralToolLibrary in the US. In 2022, Vashon’s tool library loaned 756 tools, totaling 3,787 loans. On an island of 11,000 people, this feels significant. Common projects include tree trimming, pressure-washing property, taking out weeds with weed wrenches and trimming bushes with electric hedge trimmers."

🌎 Brazil: Environmental and Indigenous-rights organizations secured a significant win after the World Bank withdrew a major loan for an agribusiness project linked to deforestation.
🤝 In this case, public oversight, Indigenous advocacy, and environmental monitoring influenced major financial institutions to prioritize protecting forests and the communities that depend on them.

No one seems to agree on how much compute is really being deployed. Also it’s unclear if “GW deployed” is the same as “GW capable of producing tokens”. Just because the facilities are built doesn’t mean they are doing work but that would be a meaningful gap to understand. Delays of various kinds, fleet deployment time and higher costs would seem to mean having a operational facility and facility actually doing work at full capacity can be markedly different.

⁉️ LAST TRIVIA ON EARTH 🌍️🧟 🧟 😱
Author Richard Matheson got all excited when he wrote the script in 1957. The film was to have been produced by Hammer Films with Fritz Lang slated to direct.
He wanted a young Harrison Ford to be the protagonist!
Dream on RM. The project was sold off to a low-budget production. But it did get VINCENT PRICE.

This creeped me out when I was a kid. They are calling him out BY NAME!

This is what has to happen to get cheap food, people.
