AP Chemistry wasn't so great. I need to hone in and finish reactions and then go back and do some atomic structure basics with them.
We're doing redox this week with a titration and then we'll move into some other material. I'm tired of stoichiometry for now.
All of my first year chemistry classes made good progress last week while I was out, which is a big relief.
Web dev struggled, so we're going to do a code-along today to model different kinds of CSS selectors (descendants, siblings, etc) so they have good examples in their hands. I'll push the box model to next week.
The hard thing about the class so far is reading technical writing. I have full examples w/ narrative, but they struggle with sustained technical reading.
Today in the classroom:
I'm back from the trip out west. I'll check in with each class and decide where to hop in to fill gaps from while I was out.
Chem is working on identifying reactions. I'll do the whoosh bottle to demo combustion. They'll finish up a simple compound research project they started yesterday.
Web dev is working on CSS selectors and trying to understand the box model.
AP Chem is finishing up stoichiometry and moving into redox.

Goodness I'm tired of driving.
Less than 9 hours to go assuming Chicago isn't a nightmare.
The wedding was amazing. We all crowded around on the point to watch and then went back to the woods for a huge party in the rain.
After a 14 hour day, we have about 9 hours left tomorrow to get home from the Grand Canyon.
This country is huge.
