  1. #EmbeddedEngineers and #SoftwareEngineers out there, what tooling do you use to build your projects? I am working with a customer whose build environment behaves wildly different locally vs on daily commits (i.e. merge requests) vs nightly vs release. None of them behave the same.

We're using #conanPackageManager currently, wrapping CMake files and with a great deal of add-ons. It's scaling poorly!

  21. Looking to turn my #Pico2 in a rudimentary #oscilloscope. Have been checking the ADC's samplerate and tried measuring an ultrasonic distance sensor's echo pulse. Not quite there yet, USB throughput is still a limiting factor.

  22. Stepper up and running. Set to default 1/8 microstepping, with the MCU sending a step every 100_000 ns.

Was having trouble with lower step delay--my quick review indicates the typical step low and step high time can be as small as 100 ns. I need to review the datasheet more in depth. Maybe I don't understand the possible interaction with microstepping or some other functionality.

  23. Correct result came a bit faster then expected! Step response measured through RP2350 ADC from 3V3 to Ground. The transition in between is due to the ADC pin being floating for a brief moment in time #pico2 #embedded

  24. Spent some time getting a usb bulk data stream working on a Raspberry Pico 2W using TinyUSB.

Biggest hurdles were device/configuration descriptor and realizing tud_task() needs to be called frequently.

  25. Debugging the RP2350’s ARM + RISC-V cores was… an adventure
    - GDB refusing to launch
    - Too many breakpoints on RISC-V
    - Switching architecture not as seamless as I thaught for debugging

You can read about it here: embeddedjourneys.com/blog/rpi-
