  3. There's going to be an internal presentation of one who reverse engineered firmware with ai, but I see that it has source code openly available. Dunno if I should go to this event just to ask a single question or not.

  4. Okay, so I stumbled back across the Fennel language the other day. I remember toying around with it a few years ago, writing some scripts to talk to i3.

Anyway, running across it again gave me the idea that someone should do for Lua what Gleam has done for Erlang/Javascript: write a transpiler to go from some functional-flavored, strictly-typed language into Lua (or even Lua bytecode).

I think maybe I could even possibly be that someone, although I've never implemented anything more complex than a very bare-bones Lisp. Maybe this is my chance.

  5. Has anyone noticed that Github is a steaming pile of shit now? I mean yeah I know it's a sloppy cesspool, but I'm talking functionally... I just got rate limited typing in the Username field lmao

  7. Caves of Qud update:

Woo, the reprogrammable recoiler I've been lugging around since the early game is finally imprinted! Turns out reprogrammable recoilers need a large chunk of energy to initially program, more than my various chem cells and solar cells could provide.

Thankfully, using the standard lifehack of hitting a Putus Templar over the head with a large flaming electrified axe and taking their stuff, I got my hands on a couple lava-powered cells that can (barely) handle the recoiler programming.

All that to just get a Six Day Stilt recoiler, the only location that was still mildly inconvenient to get to and not covered by my half dozen other recoilers.

  25. RE: infosec.exchange/@josephcox/11

I am happy with Posteo for my email.

Email is no secure medium, no matter how many bits you bolt onto the protocol. If you need to communicate confidentially, use Signal, not email.

German police once demanded the IP addresses of Posteo customers and Posteo did not—could not—deliver because they (intentionally) don't even save IP addresses.

If you need your own domain (like [email protected] rather than [email protected]), then I recommend Mailbox.org. Posteo doesn't support custom domains. Mailbox costs 300% of Posteo's price though.

In any case, Proton (via ProtonMail) should not be supported.
