absolute gem of an artist i stumbled on randomly today. this is a little different from my usual tastes (tho i can't help but her a bit of Lena Raine and others in there), but it's lovely either way :) i'm sharing the piece i found her with, but you should also check out her latest album, "Mana," as well as the rest of her lovely (sadly small) discography
anyway imagine if you're watching it out of sheer curiosity and then the first comment you read — before even starting the video — makes you realise that the "well in retrospect they weren't really friends but they at least tolerated me and found me funny sometimes" kind of friends you had in elementary and middle school *might be* the equivalent of the classic "when i was younger i didn't realise the other kids were mocking/bullying me" tale that you hear from time to time from autistic folks, a connection you had somehow never made before

welp, nlnet grant refused; it was a long shot anyway.
let's hope that nix job will actually materialize *and* i'll get the position, otherwise it's straight to pleading for months to a bunch of random contracting firms to let me work on stuff i have 0 experience on (and, on average, even less interest for)
pretty sick today but i finally managed to get my basic `nix flake init` copycat(*) wired up with home-manager so that i can easily declare devshells in a few lines with nix, and i'm just relieved i actually did something before the sunk-cost fallacy got overthrown
this thing has eaten up so much more time and energy than i planned (cuz cookiecutter, the underlying project templating tool, sucks) but it's also a thing i really want to have so i'll try to persevere
(*) the "twist" being that i don't use flakes, so it uses cookiecutter to template things, then sets up npins for the project using hooks, and finally adds some necessary pins (as well as prefetches extensions to be used with vscode-ext-hook)
