I LIKE MAKING NEWSLETTERS and I want to start making a print \ electronic zine that showcases different instances and different accounts across the fediverse to showcase the cool things they're working on - whether that's music, art, technology, grassroots journalism, or activism.
Each zine would also have a few pages to help people get a new account set up (for those not on the fediverse); some tips for etiquette, etc.
I would love to start connecting with people are hosting their own fediverse instances and might be interested in being mentioned \ showcased in something like that.
I am motivated by a general love for punk rock aesthetics, and a deep and abiding dislike for corporate social media, oligarchs, and the bot-and-AI infested internet-at-large.
Again, looking to connect with:
- people who are making things
- people who want to advertise their instance
- people who are reporting on thingsAnd anyone else who has ideas about what should go into a "fediverse" zine.
So uhhh...if that is you, plz reply, or send me a private mention.

I'm using @elk canary, which started supporting scheduled posts using Mastodon's `scheduled_at` parameter. However, there's no way to delete scheduled / unschedule posts yet, so I published a Mastodon Unschedule CLI tool: https://github.com/jangobrecht/MastodonUnschedule
All you need is python and your Mastodon API credentials. #FediTools #FediTips

Tengo un disco duro NTFS que estoy leyendo con un lector externo de estos USB 3.0. Lo intento montar y tiene pinta de que el disco está hecho pebre. He conseguido algún error de "oye que no sé cuanto espacio tengo" que tiene pinta de complicado desde un linux mint, pero aún así me gustaría intentar recuperar su contenido ¿qué opciones hay? (también tengo un windows) ¿Lo mando a recuperar? #feditipsEs

@LukaszD Osobom, które nie korzystają z list polecam gorąco wypróbowanie klientów, które pozwalają na przypięcie list na bocznym panelu (Tuba) czy w kartach obok głównej osi (Pachli, Phanpy).
Sam zacząłem doceniać listy, gdy zrozumiałem, że mogę jednym klikiem/przesunięciem przełączyć oś czasu na tematyczną, a wiadomości kont piszących na jakiś temat nie giną mi w głównym feedzie.

Yes, I've set the "Filter" languages, not just "Interface" language.
(Preferences > Other > Public Timelines > Filter languages)And many of the posts in undesired languages (in my case, 95% German) have been quite long, hundreds of characters.
I wonder if following a hashtag trumps/bypasses the language filter.

I'd like to be able to follow hashtags without seeing posts in languages I don't understand that also use those hashtags.
#Mastodon language settings don't help with that & after having a timeline 30-35% in languages I don't know, I've ended up muting hundreds (maybe thousands now) of accounts.
In fact, I've started looking at my alt account's timeline (exquisite.social) first because Mastodon's lack of hashtag migration means my timeline there is only people I follow, & only afterwards going to my original account (ohai.social) that includes followed hashtag posts.

Vale, pues ahora la siguiente pregunta es, si se organizan cosas y empiezan a correr, lo suyo sería tener una administración medianamente pública de cuentas de "nos hemos gastado este dinero en esta cosa". De momento no es tanto buscar la donación o el aporte como poder decir "esto son los gastos que hemos tenido e ingresos". Seguro que hay fedi herramientas para ello #feditipses
