A little late posting, but here are the interesting #AudioDescription links I've collected for January 2026. A bit sparse, but some great material.

"Try to Remember" is a song about nostalgia from the #musicalComedy play #TheFantasticks (1960). It is the first song performed in the show, encouraging the audience to imagine what the sparse set suggests. The words were written by the American lyricist #TomJones while #HarveySchmidt composed the music.

Does anyone happen to know if there are any Wikipedia editing projects specific for #WomensHockey players and topics? Or events for addressing the discoverability gap in #WomensSports similar to events for women in science?
I've noticed a lot of sparse or outdated pages when looking up #PWHL and #SDHL players, and a lot of #IceHockey topic pages (like those for goaltenders, defenders, forwards, captains, etc.) which don't have any women in their examples and lists. -
The Yosemite mountain tops video looks as if it was a tech demo for terrain generation in Houdini or #Gaea. The way the snow cover looks like a procedural texture... the way the forest looks artificially sparse as if they had to keep the poly count down for a realtime demo...
What an incredible landscape:

Akin to throwing paper towels at Puerto Ricans after a hurricane.
Parsing my small town's budget (from a summary-sparse document running some 600 pages), I see—at long last—on page 589 we spent just over $180M running our city of 30,000 souls last year.
(That said, $45M is a bargain for global publicity toward a Nobel peace prize.)

Here’s a quick thread 🧵 about the Belgian record label #LesDisquesDuCrépuscle, founded in 1980 when they released a 7-inch by #ACertainRatio that August. They’ve had a #Bandcamp presence for a while, but until recently it’s been rather sparse.

Associated Press: A Kenyan barber who wields a sharpened shovel thrives on Africa’s social media craze. “Safari Martins leads his client Ian Njenga into a sparse shack on the rural roadside in Kiambu, at the edge of metropolitan Nairobi. On the shack’s wooden walls hang a shovel, iron, agricultural shears and a wrench, but Njenga is not there to buy equipment. He’s there to get a haircut.”

@stickjan is watching #JaneTheVirgin and I'm impressed with how good the #Spanish is. I'm used to shows that have sprinkling of Spanish like this to have a lot of English-induced errors, but either I'm not noticing them here or they're very sparse. The Spanish sounds natural and accurate to me.
Nice!

#Croatia, Day 3. We visited #DugiOtok, #Sali and #Telascica park. We had to take a ferry, which sparse cruising hours put a strain on our far from punctual family. We spent some time on the beach at #JezeroMir, looking at some crabs and sitting in the shadows, like vampires…🥰😂 The 2,5km walk was a nightmare with children…🤡

Some little problems I can find with the approach mentioned in the #SigmaDiff paper are the following:
* Adjacency matrices, even when using sparse structures, are huge for real world functions.
* Calculating an inter-procedural data dependency graph for real world binaries takes ages.
* I don't understand why are them using a symbolic analyser (might need to re-read it).
* The Cisco Talos Datasets 1-2 don't contain binaries for anything that isn't Linux + GCC or Clang. -
Wet cobblestones mirror the glow of paper lanterns in Kobayashi Kiyochika’s *Kagurazaka Street after a Night Rain*. The sparse figures and muted reflections suggest quiet resilience in a city still stirring from the storm.
How does the balance of light and shadow shape the mood of this nocturnal scene?
