I had an odd interaction with a company today. I placed an order with them a week ago, paid in full upfront. Today I received and email, telling me I missed a bundle deal and that they would switch me over and refund the difference. Nothing I would expect these days, but it is very much appreciated. The company is #straum and they make very nice watches

Turns out, I have succeeded in convincing a watch atelier to build me a custom watch. Venecianico agreed. The custom part being to have the aventurini dial in the bronzo case. I put it on the timegrapher today, was +11sec a day, now +4 after adjusting it. It looks stunning in nature and pictures don’t do it justice :-) #wirstcheck

Todays #WristCheck the #Straum Jan Mayen, a watch from #Norway and of utter beauty. The La Joux-Perret G101 movement on the inside runs about +1 sec/day for me, which is already awesome, but it’s the dial that really drives this one home.

For a while I have been running #W11 on my gaming PC, because I thought I‘d get into sim racing. Never did, because, well I almost never have the time to game and didn’t want to spend the money for the equipment. Switched back to #Ubuntu this evening. All I can say, jedi survivor lagged heavily and is smooth again. Fascinating how an OS + compatibility layer can be more efficient than another OS on its own….
