My months (if not longer) old project to make an @AsteroidOS #watchface based on the #HatsuneMiku x #Seiko 15th anniversary watch is starting to look like something 😍!
I always feel most Vocaloid (and other anime-styled) watches end up looking dollar store cheap or too weeaboo, or the theme is hard to recognise unless you know. This specific Seiko watch is one of the few very clearly themed yet still stylish watches I've seen.
There are some small issues I need to fix in terms of alignment and positioning, but overall it's getting there. Being absolutely NOT a designer or frontend person and having hand drawn the dial in @krita I feel quite proud 😇.
If I get everything done nicely I'll submit it to the watchface community repro.

Many, MANY years ago I picked up 2nd-hand this small, 1990s, #Seiko dive watch - 7N33-5A3C for those that care --- and it came with this nasty, plastic strap that someone had added along the way...

I finally got organised - and found a guy in Japan who sold me a 17mm lug width, new strap from that era - for US$30± delivered to Colorado...

Baru lepas ganti sendiri bateri jam. Dulu2 minat repair jam, siap beli tools untuk buka jam. Lama tinggal, ni baru nak merajinkan diri balik untuk repair jam/ maintenance. Seiko Chronograph ni beli masa mula kerja Jaring dulu, rasanya dalam 2005/ 2006.

A Change in the Winds?
This past week, I took a Thursday-Sunday road trip and I brought a total of three watches with me; the baby Alpinist, the Blood Moon (my night watch) and my Falcon.
It was the week for the Alpinist to be on wrist, but when I travel, I like to have at least one option depending on the situation and wardrobe I pack. I packed a couple of shirts (both black with red & white features) that either the Blood Moon or the Falcon wouldn’t clash with, but it turns out that I never took the Alpinist off for the whole trip, even for bed.
I never even wore the two shirts I planned on wearing that would have clashed with the Alpinist. I actually wore a t-shirt I don’t usually wear in public and a road trip themed shirt made specifically for this trip in order to keep the Alpinist on wrist all week.
Does this mean I don’t like my Falcon any more? I don’t think so (I will be participating in @Aurelian’s #1wc with the Falcon), but it does open the door to the question, right? Maybe I just figured I was going to get a lot of wrist time for the Falcon soon, I typically always wear the Blood Moon to sleep and just didn’t want to shirk on wrist time for the Alpinist and it’s as simple as that?
Whatever it means regarding the Falcon, I know what it means for the Alpinist; it’s not leaving the collection. After I won it as a door prize at a meetup, I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it because I wasn’t even looking to add a new watch to the collection. In fact, I’m trying to downsize it to 10 watches & this complicates that. The heart wants what the heart wants though, I suppose.
Do you have a watch that entered your collection unexpectedly and earned its way into a permanent spot?

Oops I did it again, I bought another #Seiko UC-2000 / Data-2000.
Unfortunately this one is also dead, but maybe I can create a Franken watch with the other dead ones that I have. The keyboard is in mint condition but that screen doesn't fill me with confidence.

Kind of crazy. My watch is basically performing at +/- 0 seconds a day. If anything, the nighttime gain and daytime loss are each diminishing.

I bought a #Seiko automatic watch. After 72 hours, the loss of time during the time I wear it in the day is about equal to the time it gains when lying flat at night for a combined deviation of roughly +/- 0 seconds.
Seems like it picks up as much as five seconds over 7 hours lying flat. That seems like a lot. But over the other 2/3rds+ of the day, it gradually loses the same.
It’ll probably take longer to find out exactly where it is, but the early signs are pretty favorable.

Received this little sprocket wheel from Australia last week; it should fix the date setting on my recently acquired Seiko 5606-8110.
The 56 movement series is a great Seiko movement series from the 70s; with the little issue that the date quickset can literally fall apart, as they used a plastic wheel - which reduces wear on the day/date disc, but after 50 years, the gear gives up instead. Wish me and my staking set luck :)
